Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah (STR) 2024 is the buzzword on everyone’s lips in Malaysia right now. This government aid program could be the financial lifeline you’ve been waiting for, and we’re here to break it down for you – no jargon, no confusion, just straight-up facts.

      What’s New in STR 2024?

Apart from STR, this year’s financial aid program comes with some exciting updates, including the introduction of Sumbangan Asas Rahmah (SARa) – a special aid designed to target the most needy Malaysians in the B40 and M40 groups. Under SARa, eligible recipients can get selected essential items without cash using their myKAD at registered retail stores.

Regarding STR, the aid will be distributed in four phases throughout the year, making it easier for you to plan your finances. You can check your STR Status here.

How Much You Will Get For STR 2024?

The STR 2024 payment rate depends on the eligibility of the payment at the approved application phase. The amount to be received by STR recipients will be paid in phases according to the eligibility category for each application phase. The eligible amount for each STR application phase is as follows:

      7 Must-Know Facts About STR 2024

      1) What is STR 2024?

STR 2024 is a government-initiated cash aid program aimed at helping Malaysians who are struggling to make ends meet. It’s designed to ensure that everyone, especially the underprivileged, can afford basic necessities.

      2) Who’s Eligible?

Primarily targeted at the B40 income group, STR 2024 also extends to some M40 households, especially those on the lower end of the income spectrum.

      3) How Can You Apply for STR 2024?

Applying is a breeze. You can do it online through the STR portal or the STR app. Refer to the guide here. Prefer the old-school way? Submit a physical form at your nearest collection center.

      4) What Is The Payment Schedule Like for STR 2024?

Payments are made in four phases throughout the year. The government announces the exact dates closer to the time, so keep an eye out.

      • Phase 1 and Phase 2: Already done and dusted!
      • Phase 3: Payments for existing recipients were made on August 29th, with new applications and approved appeals being released on September 18th.
      • Phase 4: Set your reminders for November – that’s when the final phase rolls out.

      5) How Will You Receive the Money?

No need to worry about long queues! Payments are directly deposited into your registered bank account. If you don’t have one, you can collect your aid from any Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN) branch.

      6) Will STR Affect Other Benefits?

Receiving STR typically doesn’t interfere with other government assistance. However, if you’re unsure, it’s best to consult the relevant agencies.

      7) Didn’t Receive Your Payment / Being Rejected?

If you believe you’re eligible but haven’t received your STR payment, don’t panic. You can file an appeal by logging into your STR account and selecting the “Appeal” option under MySTR at the STR portal.

Final Thoughts: Make the Most of STR 2024?

STR 2024 is here to help ease the financial burdens faced by many Malaysians. Whether you’re eligible or still figuring it out, staying informed and proactive is key. Apart from STR, there are also many other government initiatives to help Malaysians in easing their burden such as BUDI Madani. You can read more about it here.
