What Government Aid Can You Get From the PEMULIH Package?
With the extension of the MCO from 28 June 2021, the government has announced more assistance for Malaysians impacted by the lockdown, known as the National People’s Well-Being and Economic Recovery Package (PEMULIH).

Bantuan Prihatin Rakyat (BPR) programme
The government announced Phase 3 of the BPR cash aid programme for 2021, to be paid in September.
The payment will come after payments for Phase 2, which will be made from now until July. Phase 1 was completed in February. For more information on BPR Phase 1 and 2, you can read this document
Those who appealed to receive BPR under the previous phases and got approved will also get their payment in September.

What can you get? | If you received payments during Phase 1 of BPR:

BPR recipients will get the money directly credited into your bank account. If you don’t have a bank account, you can receive the money at a Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN) branch.

Bantuan Khas Covid-19 (BKC)
The government has introduced a new programme called Bantuan Khas Covid-19 (BKC) to provide cash assistance to the hardcore poor, B40 and M40 groups. Full details of where and when to apply haven’t been announced, so do check our website for more updates!

What other aid can you get?
- Cash assistance of RM500 to workers who lost their incomes, based on EPF’s and SOCSO’s data this year
- The money will be sent to your bank account.
- A job seekers’ allowance of RM300 to non-SOCSO contributors
- Especially for new graduates, school leavers and informal sector workers.
- To get the allowance, you’ll need to register in the MYFutureJobs platform first.
- You can contact 1 300 22 8000 to find out more.
- 5% to 40% discount on electricity bills for domestic users for three month, up to a maximum electricity usage of 900kWh a month.
- Discounts based on consumption price per month:
- Below 200 kWh: 40% discount
- 201 kWh to 300 kWh: 15% discount
- 301 kWh to 600 kWh: 10% discount
- 601 kWh to 900 kWh: 5% discount
- Discounts based on consumption price per month:
- Cash assistance of RM500 a month for three months to disabled people who are unemployed or have lost their jobs

- The retail prices of RON95 petrol (RM2.05), diesel (RM2.15) and LPG (RM90.68 per cube) will remain the same.
- Extension of 1GB of free daily data from telcos
- Previously, five local telcos (Celcom, Digi, Maxis, U Mobile and Telekom Malaysia) offered 1GB of free daily data from June 2020 until 31 December 2020 and extended it to 31 July 2021.
- The government announced another extension of the free data until 31 December 2021.
- Six-month loan moratorium for individual borrowers and micro entrepreneurs.
- You can apply to your bank from 7 July 2021.
- You don’t need to submit any documents.
- All applications will be approved automatically.
- Life insurance policy and family takaful certificate holders affected by the pandemic can apply to defer payments by opt-in until 31 December 2021.
- You’ll need to show your insurer that you are suffering from financial difficulties due to Covid-19.

- Allowance for volunteer frontliners to be increased to RM100 from RM50 per day, for those on duty for more than 12 hours per day starting June 2021.
- Includes frontliners at vaccination centres (PPV) and Covid-19 quarantine and treatment centres (PKRC).

- i-Citra EPF withdrawal scheme
- EPF members will be able to withdraw up to RM5,000 with a fixed payment of up to RM1,000 a month for five months, depending on their savings balance.
- You can apply at i-Citra’s online portal from 15 July 2021 onwards at http://icitra.kwsp.gov.my/.
- The first payment will be sent to your bank account in August 2021.
